Lady Rachel has enlisted the aid of the invisible college. We have acquired something that could be quite dangerous to all of Thea. As if the Fey were not enough, there is apparently a gateway to the very depths of hell. We seem to have acquired a piece of the key to that gateway. What we're going to do with it I have no idea. My thought is to destroy it so that the gate could never be opened, but then again, who truly knows how theses things work.

We have been invited to a wedding. Two of the most prestigious families in Castille are joining together and it is sure to be a joyous occasion. Enrique, the youngest son of the don we are staying with here in San Cristobel, has offered to escort me. He seems to be a nice young man, but I do not want to encourage him. While Rachel has suggested, on more then one occasion, that I could, spend a night with Enrique and say that he is the father that is something I simply could not do. I was the one who chose to outride the others in Bryn Bresail and it is my sacrifice to make. Enrique knows nothing of my troubles, nor would I want him involved in them.

I am constantly worried about what I am going to do. I can not simply just abandon my companions and hide somewhere with my child. I have too many enemies, if the Montaigne Admiral doesn't find us Captain Reis surely will. On top of that, how can I just sit back knowing that the possible destruction of Theah could happen at any moment. What kind of world would my child be living in? As much as I want too, these are things that I can not ignore. Neither can I foist them onto an unwitting young man whose only mistake was to like me. But what I can do, is forget for a day and enjoy myself. At least I can watch the joy of someone else getting married.
